Russia Work Visa Document Checklist (2026)
Russia is rapidly emerging as a major destination for Indian skilled and semi-skilled workers, especially in construction, manufacturing, and welding. To deploy to Russia, you need an employer-sponsored work visa.
The Essential Checklist
Here are the mandatory documents required for a Russian Work Visa in 2026:
**1. Original Passport:** Must be valid for at least 1.5 years from the start date of the visa and have at least two blank pages.
**2. Official Invitation Letter:** An original invitation issued by the General Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, arranged by your Russian employer.
**3. Visa Application Form:** Completed, printed, and signed by the applicant.
**4. Photographs:** Recent passport-size photographs (usually 35x45mm) on a white background.
Special Medical Requirements for Russia
Russia has specific medical requirements that differ from Gulf countries:
**5. HIV-Negative Certificate:** This is strictly mandatory. The certificate must be issued by a recognized clinic and is usually valid for only 3 months. It must include the applicant's passport details.
**6. Chest X-Ray & Tuberculosis Screening:** Workers must prove they do not have active tuberculosis.
Translation Requirements
**7. Russian Translations:** Many Russian consulates require your educational certificates or police clearance to be translated into Russian and notarized.
